- July 25, 2025 Reading time : 4 minutesTowards a 100% digital driving licence: challenges and prospects
Created in 1893, the driving test remains a step towards freedom for young people in France and Europe. The driving test has undergone a number of changes in recent years. New locations for driving tests have been created, with private partners, creating opportunities for cheating. But it is above all digitisation that has taken on great importance throughout the driving test. With a European objective for 2030: the digital driving licence. Here are some explanations. New places to take the Highway Code test Since 2016, the theory test has undergone a real revolution. The theory test for the driving licence has been entrusted to 5 private operators approved by the Ministry of the Interior. You will be familiar with La Poste, but there are also Bureau Veritas and Dekra. There are several reasons for this choice. Reduced waiting times Candidates had to wait several weeks to take the test because of a lack of available places. This solution makes it possible to increase the number of examination centres and improve waiting times. Licence inspectors released By outsourcing the theory part, inspectors can concentrate more on the practical test (driving). An efficient territorial network Private operators are opening new centres in areas that were previously poorly served. This improves geographical accessibility for all applicants. Modernising examinations Private operators have introduced digital tools to efficiently manage the organisation of examinations. Slots can be booked online and results can be accessed quickly on the internet. Fraudulent practices in the new driving test centres While the increase in the number of test centres has enabled many candidates to obtain their Highway Code, it has also created what some describe as massive fraud. Numerous publications on social networks are offering people the chance to obtain their driving licence for around a hundred euros. Without going anywhere. Accomplice examiners allow an individual who knows the Highway Code well to take the test in place of the person who has registered. A few hours later, the pass certificate is sent so that the candidate can go to a driving school for the practical part of the test. It was at this stage that the cheating was revealed. In fact, despite the certificate of passing the Highway Code, the candidates had not mastered the basics, such as giving way to the right! These warnings from driving school managers led the authorities to set out on the hunt for cheats, using the Polex tool (exam police). Using artificial intelligence, it detects anomalies such as abnormally high pass rates in certain centres. A high-performance tool to help digitise driving licences in complete security While the digitisation of driving licences is inevitable, the current system is showing its limitations. These are the findings of a report on the French TV programme Envoyé Spécial. The security of online and face-to-face tests is a decisive factor in the continued modernisation of the driving test. TestWe can provide genuine technical and human guarantees. The platform is a leader in the management of face-to-face and remote examinations. It can easily support the transition to more secure but also more accessible examinations. For several years now, TestWe has been demonstrating its ability to prevent cheating situations, such as the use of AI during assessments. A European commitment to a digital driving licence by 2030 France is not alone in wanting to modernise its driving licence: Europe wants to introduce a digital licence, accessible via mobile phone. An agreement to this effect was reached on 25/03/2025. In addition to this technological advance, new rules will be applied, such as : – Training on the use of mobile phones and driving in dangerous conditions; – A 15-year validity period for motorbike and car licences. Europeans have chosen to make life easier for their citizens. They have adopted an arsenal of rules to improve road safety with a Vision Zero strategy: fewer road accidents, fewer people injured or killed on the roads. A website to help you obtain a driving licence The French authorities have set up a website to support driving licence applicants. From registering for the driving test to renewing the document, you can track the progress of your application. The site is also connected to other government platforms, such as those for car registration, passports and identity cards.
- June 24, 2025 Reading time : 3 minutesBaccalauréat 2025: complete digitisation of the registration and marking process
The application process for the 2025 baccalauréat in France is entirely digital, as is the management of examination papers and corrections. This is just one example of the extent to which the education sector is speeding up its digital transformation, moving towards simpler, more reliable processes for schools and candidates alike. Digitising the baccalauréat: the challenges of reliability and accessibility A single platform from registration to consultation of copies In France, the Cyclades (Cycles automatisés des examens et concours) platform manages registrations and the organisation of examinations, particularly the bac. It has been in place since 2020. Each candidate creates an account to access the various features of the platform, such as registering for tests or consulting their bac papers. Once the papers have been handed in, the school headmaster takes charge of scanning them. The markers then mark the anonymised papers. Please note: only free candidates need register for the bac via Cyclades. For students attending school, it is the school that manages registrations. Simpler, more secure paperless procedures The advantages of these digital procedures for the baccalauréat benefit everyone, schools and students alike. For candidates, using a single platform means that all the procedures can be carried out in one place, taking into account the difficulties associated with the digital divide. For this reason, the designers of Cyclades have made it accessible on all types of device (computer, tablet and smartphone). As far as schools are concerned, digitisation reduces input errors and saves a considerable amount of time. Finally, the platform is completely secure and compliant with the RGPD (General Data Protection Regulation). TestWe also offers all these features with its secure remote examination tool. The digital transformation of the education sector: a process that is gathering pace The digitisation of national examinations is gaining ground around the world While the digital transformation of the bac has been gradual in France, with a final burst of speed after the Covid-19 pandemic, Anglo-Saxon countries have taken the lead. Registration for national examinations has been digital since the 2000s in the UK and the US. And the progress continues! More recent examples include Morocco, which has announced the complete digitisation of application procedures for the 2025 bac. From now on, Moroccan candidates who are enrolled in school and those who are not will also have to use a dedicated platform to validate their registration for the exam.more: Baccalauréat 2025: Candidates asked to check and validate their information online. What if it were possible to take the baccalauréat online and at a distance? In the wake of digital enrolment, countries such as Estonia and Finland allow certain national examinations to be taken online (e.g. MatriculationExamiantion, the equivalent of the Finnish baccalaureate). The tests are taken via a computer, usually at an examination centre and in a supervised room (which TestWe is also able to offer). In France, the bac exams are still taken in person and on paper. This also applies to candidates preparing for the bac via distance learning. But what if taking the bac online was the next step in the digital transformation of the education sector? That would mean using even more secure, cheat-proof tools. Experts in distance learning exams, such as TestWe, are already ready to support schools and students in this development.
- May 20, 2025 Reading time : 4 minutesRecruitment 2025: AI, soft skills, automation… Here’s what’s changing (and how to prepare)
The year 2025 marks a real turning point in the way we recruit talent. The use of AI (artificial intelligence) but also the emphasis on soft skills: these are varied and rapid developments for recruiters. Recruiters also have to deal with increasingly demanding candidates. How can we use disruptive technologies without becoming dependent on them? Here are some of the ways in which TestWe is working to ensure that we continue to meet our clients’ expectations. Has AI replaced human resources for recruitment 2025 ? The programme Cash Investigation on 10 April 2025 sheds light on the various uses of AI in the world of work, and in particular for employee recruitment. Between fantasy and reality, what role will this disruptive technology play in human resources? From recruitment 2025 to employee appraisal, AI is an essential tool that needs to be mastered ‘We’ve become obsolete’, says one of the first victims of AI. In fact, AI has completely replaced the work of this press relations employee: no more need for one person to compile press reviews. The AI can do in a few seconds what the employee used to do in 3 hours. Although some of the company’s experts have been retained, a large proportion of the workforce has been made redundant. This is a radical example of the power of AI to limit a company’s wage bill. Rational, neutral decisions for greater productivity The promise of AI is active, objective help in selecting CVs, for example. When recruiting several dozen candidates, it is possible to obtain an initial sort according to criteria chosen by the human resources manager. But that’s not all. Tools offered by certain start-ups can be used to analyse the candidate’s behaviour during the job interview. The results are not confined to references in the curriculum vitae: non-verbal and facial expressions are dissected by observing the face or voice. French and European authorities are paying close attention to the use of AI in human resources The European and French authorities have decided to limit the use of certain techniques in human resources, among all the sectors that have adopted AI. The AI Act, the reference document for limiting abuses This text, which was passed a year ago, lists the uses of AI that could be abused. It came into force in February 2025 in France. The risk of discrimination is one of the factors considered by the MEPs. Candidates’ reactions during a job interview vary greatly from one culture and country to another. Applications that rank candidates’ CVs are also subject to specific legal requirements. The CNIL keeps an eye on AI abuses in France The Cnil is keeping a particularly close eye on discrimination criteria. AI tends to favour elements that are already in the database. If only men are recruited for management positions, the AI will reproduce this inequality. It is also possible for recruiters to exclude certain residential areas from the selection process. According to Thomas Dautieu, Director of Legal Support at the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), who was interviewed by Cash Investigation, ‘We must always be vigilant about the use of AI’. TestWe, an ethical recruitment 2025 tool All these examples show just how important it is to choose an effective and ethical recruitment tool. And one that complies with European legislation. Assessment made easy, but not automated TestWe provides recruitment managers with optimum support in complete confidence, thanks to ethical AI. This means that the database has been properly constructed to avoid the biases rejected by the Cnil and the IA Act. Analysis of soft skills beyond automatic filters Because candidates are more than just diplomas and skills, TestWepro also offers a better understanding of their soft skills. It is possible to put in place a range of tests adapted to a relevant search for talent. The human element remains at the heart of the process, despite the gains in time and productivity This disruptive technology has been rapidly adopted by business leaders and human resources departments alike. As well as saving time and productivity, it is important to remember that artificial intelligence must not replace the human being. The latter must be in control of the tool and always check the results given. That’s why our new AI product is called ‘Your Intelligent Personal Assistant’. It revolutionises the way you work, but it’s you who sets the objective.
- April 14, 2025 Reading time : 4 minutesInclusive learning: how does TestWe incorporate the principles of this teaching approach?
Inclusive learning is at the heart of training and educational concerns. It means taking account of diversity, learning difficulties or disabilities, and guaranteeing equal opportunities for all. This approach is not limited to teaching: it also concerns assessments. On the TestWe online exam platform, there are a number of features to meet specific educational needs. Find out more. What is inclusive learning and why is it important? Pedagogy: the main principles of inclusive learning You may already have heard of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This educational approach, developed in the United States and Canada, is making headway in Europe. The aim is to offer the same learning conditions, regardless of ability, disability or background. Inclusive learning is based on several principles: In this way, flexibility, adaptability and accessibility are at the heart of inclusive learning. Integrating an inclusive approach into training: a priority for 2025! Implementing the means to guarantee equal opportunities is essential in 2025. Firstly, for ethical reasons: the aim is to combat exclusion and discrimination and to adapt practices to changing mentalities. This inclusive approach is governed by a number of obligations. TestWe: an inclusive assessment tool for universal education The TestWe online exam platform offers an inclusive approach that is flexible, adaptable and accessible. And not just because the tests can be taken remotely: TestWe offers a range of facilities for people with disabilities or special educational needs. Responding to the specific needs of learners People with disabilities can have their assessments adapted (article L112-4 of the Education Code). - April 1, 2025 Reading time : 3 minutesCheating with ChatGPT and generative AI: why isn’t it possible with TestWe?
Using ChatGPT or any other AI tool during an exam is cheating! The rise of generative artificial intelligence poses new challenges for teachers: how do you prevent students from consulting an AI during a remote test? TestWe, the online exam specialist, has integrated anti-cheating functions optimised to block and/or detect any use of artificial intelligence. How does this work? Arina Munteanu, Quality Manager at TestWe, explains. The TestWe intelligent assistant blocks the use of ChatGPT and AIs A downloadable application to prevent cheating with ChatGPT and generative AI The principle is simple: TestWe is a downloadable application, not a solution opened in a web browser. ‘The application is automatically displayed in full screen mode, and blocks both keyboard shortcuts and screenshots. This prevents access to unauthorised external resources, such as artificial intelligence’, explains Arina Munteanu. With such an operating mode, it’s impossible to hope to get out of the exam to browse another site like ChatGPT. ‘Everything is encrypted. Nor can the candidate extract the TestWe subject and copy it somewhere else. And also: continuous monitoring during the exam Students might have the idea of bypassing this protection by using the smartphone version of ChatGPT. But that’s not possible either: the webcam surveillance function takes over. ‘The TestWe application goes round the room before the test starts and checks that the candidate is not wearing headphones. Monitoring is then carried out continuously throughout the test, via the webcam and the computer microphone’. Under these conditions, students cannot attempt to ask someone for help, or use any other device connected to an AI. Except at their own risk. TestWe AI also helps detect cheating attempts with ChatGPT or other AIs Putting AIs to work for teachers ‘Our solution prevents the use of AI during online exams, but we didn’t want to completely shun this technology,’ stresses Arina Munteanu. Indeed, with TestWe, artificial intelligence is made available to teachers. The TestWe AI function is a virtual assistant based on ChatGPT. It can not only create exams, but also help to mark them and spot cheating attempts. Testwe AI, a correction assistant ‘The artificial intelligence correction assistant gives an initial mark according to the scale set by the teacher, and offers personalised comments. The tool is also capable of detecting the use of another AI in the candidate’s answers’ (assuming that the candidate has managed to bypass the anti-cheating systems). A scalable solution to adapt to new digital and AI uses Since its creation, TestWe has continued to evolve with digital usage and to offer new functions. In the beginning, it was mainly a question of securing face-to-face tests and finding solutions to the digital divide. Since then, the Covid-19 pandemic, the growing use of distance learning and the development of AI have all played their part. ‘This has given even greater importance to the anti-cheating aspect of TestWe’, adds Arina Munteanu. As a result, new ideas could be deployed in the future to improve TestWe: strengthening the virtual marking assistant and analysing typing speed, for example, always with the aim of guaranteeing the quality and reliability of online exams.
- March 24, 2025 Reading time : 4 minutesHow can you successfully assess your employees’ skills?
Assessing skills is not just something that happens during recruitment or at the end of a training course! It’s an integral part of a company’s human resources policy, helping employees to develop (or enhance) their skills. As long as you respect the key stages and use the right tools! Here are the best practices for a successful employee skills assessment. Assessing employee skills: what’s in it for you? Assessing the skills of employees in a company can meet a number of challenges. It makes it easier to identify skills that were previously ‘under the radar’. Technological innovations or a change in activity within the company may require employees to acquire new skills. Skills assessment helps to identify training needs. This is the case when the company implements technical processes or uses new software. It is possible to assess participants in order to validate what they have learnt, or to decide on enhanced support. Finally, skills assessment is a key tool for participating in the professional development of employees and leading teams. By investing in a long-term vision of their careers, companies can build loyalty among their employees and avoid employee fatigue, which is often synonymous with staff turnover. Good to know: in France, employers can offer training to help develop skills and ensure that employees can adapt to their jobs (article L6321-1 of the Labour Code). The skills development plan provides a framework for possible training initiatives. Quatre étapes pour réussir l’évaluation des compétences des collaborateurs Assessing the skills of your employees is not something you can improvise! Here are four steps for organising this process within your company. Step 1: Establish a framework and define objectives A successful employee skills appraisal requires, above all, the support of the people who are the first to be affected: the company’s employees. To achieve this, it is essential to determine : Step 2: Identify the skills to be assessed Skills can be : Step 3: Choosing a valuation method There are several approaches depending on the objectives being pursued, and it is entirely possible to combine several methods. Step 4: Draw on the results to implement an action plan Assessment is not just about interviews and tests. It has to be followed up with concrete action to see positive effects for both the company and the employee! Analyses of the results can be used to: What tools should be used to successfully assess employee skills? In the context of an interview, a simple Excel evaluation grid may suffice to list skills already acquired or to be improved. But for more relevant results, we recommend using digital assessment platforms: for their efficiency, reliability and the transparency they offer. Here are several criteria to look for: Good to know: A solution like TestWe meets all these criteria. The digital platform can be fully configured according to the objectives being pursued. TestWe integrates with the various tools used by the company and enables a transparent assessment process for employees.
- March 17, 2025 Reading time : 5 minutesHigher education: how can you prepare for the careers of tomorrow ?
This is the question that all secondary school students, and their parents too, are asking themselves: which post-bac career path should we choose to meet the expectations of tomorrow’s employment sector? At a time when artificial intelligence is overturning all certainties about work, it’s important to prepare for the careers of the years to come. Here’s an overview and some explanations. Where am I going and who am I? Before asking themselves what is the best course of study for a successful career, students need to ask themselves what they want and the environment in which they want to work. Over the last few years, and particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the French have been asking themselves questions about the direction of their future professional careers. Will it be in line with their different aspirations? How can they move forward in a changing world of work? Developing cross-disciplinary skills 85% of future professions do not yet exist, according to a recent study by the Institute for the Future (IFTF). To stack the odds in your favour, it’s best to develop cross-disciplinary skills that will always be useful, whatever the profession. They could be defined as follows: Focusing on growth areas The future may be uncertain, but certain business sectors are still experiencing strong growth. Why not try to start your professional life in these still buoyant fields? So-called emerging technologies (which will not remain so for long) are still at the top of the list of fields that are recruiting. Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are among the top priorities for managers over the next 5 years, as shown by PwC’s latest CEO Survey. There will be massive recruitment to meet the high expectations of business leaders. Sustainable development and resilient enterprise are also areas in which significant investment is planned. There will be an increasing number of jobs in renewable energies, soft mobility and ecological transition. In a way, this is the revenge of the humanities and social sciences: after being sidelined, they are coming back with a vengeance, to deploy CSR policies within institutions, for example. Léon Laulusa (Managing Director of ESCP) imagines positions such as ‘teleworking coordinator’ or ‘expert in human-robot interaction’. Workplace psychology and digital ethics are priority subjects and represent job opportunities in the years to come. Finally, health and biotechnology remain sectors that are always in demand for talent. Biotech is developing rapidly, incorporating the latest developments in artificial intelligence. Higher education is responding to all these developments and offering relevant career paths for future graduates. What training courses should you choose to meet the expectations of tomorrow’s employers? Universities and Grandes Ecoles have adapted to offer higher education courses that meet the needs of businesses. Hybrid and international courses It is now possible to combine several courses, for example combining technology and social sciences. This dual training broadens students’ knowledge and enables them to adapt to different issues. If you want to perfect your skills in a very specific field, MOOCs or boot camps are new ways of complementing more traditional degrees. For even greater flexibility and exposure to unusual practices, it is advisable to spend a few months abroad as part of an exchange programme such as Erasmus. This experience has become an almost compulsory part of the higher education curriculum. Work placements It is essential to get closer to the world of work to help you focus your training. Work placements give you a more realistic view of the world of work and enable you to adapt your training to the realities of the sector. It also helps you to start building your professional network and develop your LinkedIn profile, for example. Perfecting your professional agility Over and above the qualifications you have obtained at university, it is essential to have a great deal of curiosity and agility about the sector of activity you are looking for. Knowing what the new trends are means you can better understand what’s at stake. And to adapt a career path to meet the expectations of human resources managers.Soft skills will also play a decisive role in a job market increasingly dominated by task automation. You should not hesitate to cultivate them and perfect them over the course of your studies.
- March 5, 2025 Reading time : 3 minutesIn South Korea, artificial intelligence is being used to personalise education
South Korea is looking to make greater use of artificial intelligence in education. AI could be used to adapt teaching content according to the level of students, starting with the next school year in March 2025. But this project is still facing opposition. Here are some explanations. Adapted content to personalise the learning experience Towards adaptive learning to meet new requirements In South Korea, the current education model is facing a number of challenges: strong competition for university places, and an increasingly demanding labour market. The Ministry of Education has embarked on a digital transformation strategy to make education more flexible, particularly with tools available online, and better adapted to the different levels of students. One element of this strategy is to replace traditional educational textbooks with digital media. These are combined with artificial intelligence to personalise learning. Initially, only three subjects will be covered: English, maths and computing. Others should follow, such as history and Korean.Four school levels are involved: levels 3 and 4 at primary school, level 1 at collège and level 1 at lycée. In France, this is equivalent to CE2, CM1, 5e and seconde. Limiting school drop-outs, adjusting difficulty: how is AI being used? Artificial intelligence should be used to adapt the difficulty of teaching according to the performance and shortcomings of each pupil. When a student has sufficient knowledge or learning ability in a subject, AI increases the difficulty level of exercises or explanations. And if learning is more complicated for a student, the AI adjusts the pace to better meet his or her specific needs.According to the Korean news agency Yonhap, AI should help ‘prevent students from dropping out of school’. The role of teachers is also changing: routine tasks, such as marking exercises, are being devolved to AI, as proposed by TestWe AI. This means that teachers can concentrate more on mentoring and coaching their pupils. Finally, AI gives them continuous, real-time feedback on student performance. This adaptive learning is accompanied by teacher training, so that AI can be used in the classroom. Cost of the transformation: 740 million dollars over three years (source Worldbank.org), between 2024 and 2026. South Korea’s National Assembly puts the brakes on the project However, the arrival of the new digital textbooks on Korean school desks is not yet a foregone conclusion. Last December, the South Korean National Assembly voted in favour of an amendment that leaves the choice to schools. Schools will be able to decide whether or not to use the textbooks from the start of the school year in March 2025. Another aspect of this amendment is that textbooks supplied by the AI ‘fall into the category of complementary teaching aids’. For the Opposition, textbooks should in fact be solely printed or digital works with no AI input. As a result, the strategy for the digital transformation of the education system is also suffering from the current difficult political context in the country.
- September 12, 2024 Reading time : 3 minutesWhen AI makes exam creation easier!
With the widespread adoption of continuous assessment and modular training programs, the number of evaluations has increased. For teachers and trainers, this means more exam and test creation, which requires time and effort to come up with new question ideas. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support exam creators with numerous advantages. Here are some explanations and best practices. Tell me your topic, and I’ll find the questions Generative AI can create content and generate questions based on the sources it is provided. For a teacher or trainer, several options are possible. Indicate a general topic A course or module might cover a broad theme, such as « the economy after World War II. » To generate questions, you simply need to provide this topic. Use your course as a knowledge base This method is useful to check whether students have fully understood the course material. It involves asking AI to generate questions solely based on the content presented in class. A reference document as a source The latest generations of generative AI can process fairly large documents, such as theses, standards, or technical documentation. The questions generated are then based on this information. A previous exam on the same topic Creating new questions for a multiple-choice test can be especially tedious when the program hasn’t changed and the module content is the same from year to year. Plus, students are often savvy enough to obtain last year’s exams! In this case, you can simply give clear instructions to the AI: « Based on this multiple-choice test (last year’s one), generate new and original questions. » The final validation remains with the exam creator AI should not replace the teacher or trainer. Simply copying and pasting content generated by an AI tool would be a serious mistake, even if the process seems highly efficient. Be wary of the “wow!” factor of some tools. AI can make mistakes Just as humans can err, so can generative AI. The main reason lies in how these tools work. Based on source analysis, the generated questions and answers may sometimes include inaccurate or even incorrect information. Thus, an expert or teacher must always validate the exam before sharing it with candidates. Add a personal touch The best way to use AI in exam creation is likely as a starting point. The teacher can then finalize the exam by adding, removing, or correcting the elements proposed by the tool. This saves time, avoids “blank page anxiety,” and maintains the specific tone or approach of their teaching. Teachers, trainers: to try TestWe’s generative AI solution for exam creation, schedule a meeting with our dedicated teams.
